This is my very first dance video, inspired by the bizarre yet amazing American Woodcock. I hope you like it, and if you do, please share with your friends! A little background ... last April I went out to the mucky field behind our house with a bluetooth speaker and my iPhone, mounted on a tripod. Backyard Bird Walk
Просмотров 4,1 тыс.6 лет назад
This podcast features sounds recordings I made just after dawn, on Earth Day, April 22, 2018. As it turns out, I ended up recording a whopping 26 species, including 24 birds, 1 frog and 1 mammal, all found in my own backyard near Ithaca in upstate New York. Fortunately, our property includes a number of habitats, such as a pond with some cattails, grassy meadows, lots of shrubby edges, an overg...

This video features an ambush bug consuming a honeybee nearly twice its size. The Ambush Bug, Phymata americana, is a member of the Assassin Bug family. Adults hang out on leaf heads of goldenrods, asters, etc., awaiting prey. When a small insect approaches, the Ambush Bug shoots out its chunky, scissor-like forelegs to secure the prey, which is then immobilized by injecting poison through its ...

Wood thrush by far have the most beautiful song of any bird I know. I like how each individual has its own song
Saw one yesterday for the first time ever in Pennsylvania. Very nice bird to see. They have a shine to em.
When I was a kid, my Nana and Papa owned a camp that was right by the water and this is what we heard. All. Night. Long. It was actually really soothing.
I was walking my dog in my neighborhood around 2 A.M. about a month ago and the only sound in the stillness was THIS bird. Of course, I couldn't see it and wondered what type of bird it was. A Google search brought me here. It sits in the same tree, singing it's little heart out... no other birds responds. I make a point of walking past that house just to hear this.... makes me laugh!
the everyday person has no idea of this experience...
There are a few of these that have lived in a park near me for the past two years. Didn't know what they were called. Turns out the name is pretty easy to remember.
Beak literally goes - -<
I had a girlfriend that hated hearing this in the morning…not the one for me.
Beautiful.
I've been trying to identify this sound for months. I bought 12 acres, a third is densely wooded. I hear it mostly in the morning and evening. They never sing near the edge of the woods, it's always deep into the trees which makes their singing otherworldly. Such a peaceful and relaxing sound. So glad to know now who they are.
Meep 🤷♂

Such a beautiful bird. I have never seen one unfortunately, it does sound similar to the robin.
